Peter has been involved in the transactional practice of venture capital, private equity, and mergers and acquisitions for many years, starting in the 1980s. He began as a banker and became general counsel and a member of the investment committee of Westinghouse Financial Services. Since then he has spent the last 25 years representing venture and private equity funded investors and companies. He has varied experience representing emerging companies and investors in the health care, software, cybersecurity, medical devices, physical therapy, robotics, foreign exchange, food and beverage, e-commerce, advanced manufacturing, and business services areas, from start-up through exit.

Peter has recently represented: a cybersecurity start-up to obtain venture financing; a venture-funded, tele-radiology practice in a convertible note offering; a software company in its sale to Amazon; a foreign exchange trading company to acquire a software company serving the back offices of hedge funds; a private equity fund in the leveraged acquisition of a physical therapy business; the seller of a data-base management business to a private equity fund in a management buyout;  and a buyer in a complex, cross-border acquisition of a food company.

Peter is a member of the board of trustees of Pittsburgh’s Coro Civic Leadership Center promoting leadership initiatives in disadvantaged communities. He is a member of the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association and a past president of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. He and his wife, Molly, have three grown children who are doing wonderful things in the areas of art, fashion and music.
